The M62 collapsed live updates from Huddersfield as traffic came to a complete standstill

Motorists traveling along the M62 near Huddersfield are facing long delays this afternoon.

Traffic has been brought to a complete standstill on the eastbound carriageway between J22 at Rishworth Moor and J23 at Huddersfield following a crash involving two cars.

National Highways reported that there is currently a 45-minute delay on the approach and over three miles of congestion. Footage from highway cameras shows cars queuing bumper-to-bumper.

At the moment, the circumstances of the collision are not known, and it is not clear when the road will be reopened. Yorkshire Live has contacted West Yorkshire Police for further information.
