Cornwall signs Samoan prop Clark

Cornwall have signed Samoan prop Tomo Clark until the end of the season.

The 18-year-old joins the League One club, having been on the books of Auckland Blues and New Zealand Warriors.

Clark, who is also eligible for New Zealand and England, played rugby union for the Peterborough Lions this season.

“Tomo is someone we’ve been aware of for a while,” head coach Mike Abbott said.

“He’s played a bit of rugby so it won’t take him much to get up to speed fitness-wise with the rest of the boys.

“Another option in the middle of the park is good for us too as we have struggled in that area with injury and unavailability at times this year.

“Tomo fits the bill off the pitch in terms of what we’re looking for in a Cornwall player and I’ve seen first-hand that he’s fitted in with the rest of the pack.

“We took it to Hunslet last weekend to get a feel for it and we couldn’t be happier with how it settled in.”
