Sunday’s schedule change for Birmingham-Southern at the College World Series

The Birmingham-Southern baseball team celebrates its super regional win against Denison University on Saturday, May 25, some while connected to IV drips. The baseball team is playing in the Division III Baseball World Series after school went out of business on Friday.

Rain showers in the Cleveland area canceled Sunday’s games in the Division III Baseball World Series.

Birmingham-Southern is scheduled to face Wisconsin-Whitewater at 4 pm CT at Classic Park in Eastlake, Ohio. The elimination game was originally scheduled for 2:00 PM CT. In the day’s other elimination game, Misericordia led top-seeded Endicott 1-0 in the first innings. Birmingham-Southern and Wisconsin-Whitewater then play at Classic Park.

The story of the Birmingham-Southern baseball team has captivated the nation. School officially closed on Friday, but the BSC baseball team made it to the D-III Baseball World Series. Birmingham-Southern lost the first game of the national championship tournament against Salve Regina University on Friday, but then came from behind on Saturday to knock off Randolph-Macon with a dramatic home run from BSC slugger Jackson Webster.
