The ‘stunning’ gardens with boat trips less than an hour from Birmingham, offering free entry

Trentham Estate is celebrating its 20th anniversary! And to mark the occasion, bosses are offering free entry to the gardens for the day.

There will be live music, dance performances and fairground rides, plus boat and train rides, as the property is also celebrating Emergency Services Community Day and will be raising funds for Dougie Mac Hospice.

Guests can also sit in a fire engine and a police car, meet the emergency service mascots and see Bobbie, the remote control police car. The event takes place on Saturday, May 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Entry to the gardens is free, just pay a £1 booking fee which includes a 70p donation to Dougie Mac Hospice. Find out more and book on the Trentham website.

Advance booking is essential. A pre-sale will be held from 10am on Thursday for Trentham Estate members. Tickets go on sale to non-members at 10am on Friday 10 May.

Deborah Vickers, Dougie Mac’s head of business and community fundraising, added: “It will be a fantastic opportunity to raise money for our charity as we celebrate 20 years of Trentham and our local community. Dougie Mac provides free hospice services to over 3,500 local people with life-limiting illnesses each year in Stoke-on-Trent, North Staffordshire and the surrounding villages.”

Trentham Gardens receives a 4-star rating from multiple reviews on Tripadvisor. Lynne W posted: “Lovely place, beautiful gardens, lots of shops, lovely staff. Keep the dogs in the dog, plenty of room for tired feet. You have different attractions in the coming months.”

How to get to Trentham Gardens from Birmingham

Trentham Gardens is at Trentham Estate, Stone Road, Trentham, Stoke-on-Trent ST4 8JG. It takes around 50 minutes to reach the gardens from Birmingham via the M6, traffic permitting. Alternatively, you can take a train from Birmingham New Street to Stone via Stafford, then catch a bus or taxi to the gardens.
