Illegal cash seized from drug dealers used to help veterans overcome addiction

The ill-gotten cash will be seized from drug dealers and handed over to a veterans’ charity.

Money taken from the pockets of criminals appearing before Liverpool Crown Court is given to a designated charity of the month as part of a scheme which runs from January 2022. To date, more than £200,000 has been donated to good causes in Merseyside. .

Dougie Dunsmore-Dawson from Tom Harrison House said: “The center was opened in June 2014 in response to the fact that there was no dedicated military addiction treatment service for veterans in the country. residential setting.

“We have our dedicated treatment building just across the road from our dedicated administration building which forms our hub here in Anfield. Our beneficiaries live nearby in supported accommodation in the form of three dedicated recovery homes.

“Each client is assigned their own fully furnished individual room upon admission to the program and share a fully equipped shared bathroom as well as access to a furnished outdoor courtyard space. All houses have a common, fully furnished, widescreen shared lounge area. TV and a shared kitchen with all modern appliances, crockery and utensils.
