Nuneaton’s new mobile clinic to arrive in GP car parks to help patients affected by hospital delays

A new mobile clinic is set to arrive in GP car parks in Nuneaton, Bedworth and North Warwickshire. to help patients affected by hospital delays. Based in a converted van, the bespoke clinic will mainly cater for patients on the George Eliot Hospital’s Heart Failure (HF) Service.

The ‘HF Mobile Clinic’ will visit patients focusing on what are known as the ‘Core20PLUS’ areas of North Warwickshire. “Core20PLUS” is the local phase of a national scheme to contribute to reducing health inequalities.




In a report to the hospital’s trust board, it explains: “The mobile clinic will initially be based in GP car parks and will provide daily titration clinics to help ensure patients access treatment in a timely manner , normally delayed in the current period. hospital modeling due to waiting times.

“The service will also offer a monthly ‘Healthy Heart Roadshow’ to the general public, offering free blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes checks in line with heart health and wellness advice. We will work alongside our colleagues in Primary Care and the Community.”

Work is now underway on the design of the clinic, including what facilities it will have inside. The new HF clinic is due to be discussed at a meeting of the hospital’s board on Tuesday (June 4).
