Fears the closure of the A30 will affect Royal Cornwall Show traffic

Bridgette Clamp, from Nancledra, near Penzance, who will be showing her Red Ruby Devon cattle at the show, said she had faced long delays.

She said: “It’s ridiculous to close it and give us a new and longer diversion on that Royal Cornwall weekend.

“Now we will be on another diversion which will also be stopped by holiday traffic.

“For animal welfare, this is just another straw on the camel’s back.

“There will be hitching points, there will be trailers of all different widths and sizes and not just cattle, there will be sheep and horses, there will be lots of horse competitions at the Royal Cornwall Show and Saturday will be a nightmare.”
