CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR ORDER – Coventry conman has been banned from parts of the city

A COVENTRY fraudster has been banned from parts of the city after police busted his spending spree.

Luke Campbell was identified by officers on CCTV using a number of stolen bank cards at shops in the city.

The cards had been stolen from a number of vehicles in Hillfields during May.

The 34-year-old, of no fixed address, was arrested on Wednesday and magistrates jailed him for eight weeks for fraud a day later.

Officers also obtained a two-year Criminal Behavior Order (CBO) banning them from entering Far Gosford Street or any business or commercial premises in Coventry city centre.

And he is banned from going near or entering any student accommodation in the city, as well as entering Hillfields.

Ch Insp Daryl Lyon said: “This is an excellent result, not just for us as a police force but also for businesses in Coventry.

“Using CBOs like this gives us a much wider range of options in dealing with known and persistent offenders.

“By restricting the movements of criminals and banning them from certain areas, we are able to take quicker action to arrest and charge them if they are involved in crime.

“This in turn helps us keep businesses safe and keep persistent criminals off the streets for longer.”

Those who have been granted OBCs and breach them risk spending more time in prison.

Anyone who sees Campbell in any area where he shouldn’t be should send information via Live Chat to west-midlands.police.uk or call police on 101.
