A man has suffered life-changing injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on the A38 in Bodmin

A man has been freed from the wreckage of a three-vehicle crash in Cornwall at the weekend (Saturday, June 1). The victim suffered potentially life-changing injuries in the crash, which happened on the A38.

Police were called at around 11.20am on Saturday to reports of a multi-vehicle crash near Bodmin railway station. Several emergency services attended, including Cornwall Fire and Rescue, Devon and Cornwall Police and South West Ambulance Service.




A driver of one of the three vehicles involved in the crash was freed from the wreckage by firefighters. He suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital.

The road was closed for several hours while emergency crews worked to rescue the injured and clear the debris. The road was reopened at 2:22 p.m., more than three hours after the accident.

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Police were called at around 11.20am on Saturday June 1 to reports of a multi-vehicle collision on the A38 by Bodmin Station.

“The ambulance and fire brigade were both called to the scene. Three vehicles involved, the blaze extracted the casualty from the car before he was taken to hospital with suspected life-changing injuries.

“The road was reopened at 2.22pm.”
