It was introduced with an AVL engine in the year 2002. The Royal Enfield Thunderbird is known as the Royal Enfield Rumbler in the international markets. Later there was a change to the engine. The bike was renamed the Thunderbird Twinspark because of the twin spark plugs in the UCE. Other parts saw only minimal changes from the original Thunderbird. The final drive chain is moved to the right side and is the most obvious change from the old model apart from the new engine. 2020 Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Launch

The first launch of the Thunderbird in 2002 changed the way people looked at Royal Enfields. Royal Enfield will launch this BS6 compliant Thunderbird along with the classic and Bullet. The classic has already been spotted with some key new features. The 2020 model of the Thunderbird will be released around December or January. The launch of this bike is going to be a big one. Alongside this, there will also be the launch of the Thunderbird X, which is the more youth-focused design.

The current price of Thunderbird 350 is Rs 1.57 lakhs. With all the changes to the engine and console, the new bike will cost around Rs 40,000 more. The Thunderbird will be priced around 1.87 lakhs at least after the update. This will make it a big decision for many who are planning to buy a bike that costs close to 2 lakh and offers much less than the competitors do.

2020 Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 SpyShots

The Thunderbird will have a slightly more cruiser-style riding position, as its kickstands appear to be positioned about two or three inches further forward than before. The rest of the bike appears to be identical to the test mule spotted earlier this month. It uses a new double cradle chassis and has a more compact exhaust.

The platform seems to have undergone changes as well, as earlier spy shots show a new dual-sway chassis with two pipes. The engine still remains air-cooled, but we expect it to meet stricter emissions norms (BSVI). As reported earlier in the Royal Enfield Classis spy shots, we believe that the displacement of the bike has increased and the company may not sell similar bikes with two different engine sizes on offer.
