George Eliot Hospital has been unveiled for several wards

A huge deep clean is to begin in some wards at Nuneaton’s hospital. A ward renovation program has begun at George Eliot Hospital.

It started with UTI and then the Nason ward was closed for deep cleaning. That work was supposed to be completed last week.

The next phase of the refurbishment/deep cleaning program has now been set. It is scheduled to take place in the coming months in the following departments:

  • Melly Ward
  • Victoria Ward
  • Alexandra Ward
  • Bob Jakin Ward
  • Felix Holt Ward

To help close the wards as the deep clean takes place, there will be a room used as a “settling facility” so patients are not affected, officials say. These works are due to be completed by early October, and a roll-out plan for more works is currently being organised.
