Two men charged and named after police officer ‘dragged under car’ in ‘failure to stop pursuit’

Two men have appeared in court after a West Yorkshire Police officer was “dragged under a car” during a pursuit last week.

Shortly after 1.15pm on Friday, May 31, a Seat Ibiza failed to stop for a traffic police unit. The vehicle was chased before being stopped minutes later in Selby Road, Leeds.

A police officer also suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital, police said. A West Yorkshire Police spokesman now says two men were due to appear in court in connection with the incident.
