The Birmingham events company has been acquired in a multi-million pound deal

A Birmingham events company has been snapped up by event booking and ticketing platform Citizen Ticket in a multi-million pound deal combining cash and equity.

Founded over two decades ago by Mo Jones and Jimmy Hewson, TicketSellers & Eventree has clients including Shambala Festival, End of the Road Festival and Southampton International Boat Show.

Included in the offering is TicketSellers accreditation software, Eventree, which is used by medium to large scale festival events, with current clients including Glastonbury Festival, Parklife, Isle of Wight, Reading & Leeds, Lost Village and Download.

Citizen Ticket aims to leverage the technical strengths and expertise of both platforms to improve its offerings and better serve event organizers and attendees, with plans to expand its ticketing platform and Eventree globally.

In addition, the acquisition brings key individuals into leadership and management positions within Citizen Ticket.

Mo Jones will take on the role of president, Phil Hayes will become chief product officer (CPO), and Liz Cobley, TicketSellers’ current chief operating officer, will take on the role of chief operating officer for the expanded company.

Hayes said: “We are delighted to become part of Citizen Ticket, marking a new chapter in our journey. This acquisition opens the door to unparalleled opportunities, allowing us to improve our services and reach new heights together. We are excited about the synergies and innovation this partnership promises for our customers and our future.”
