Nigel Farage will stand for parliament in July’s general election

Nigel Farage has announced that he will stand for parliament in the upcoming general election. The former leader of UKIP has been appointed as the new leader of Reform UK.

And he went on to say he would stand for election in the July poll, despite previously saying he had no plans to do so. He will stay in Clacton, Essex, and formally launch his candidacy tomorrow.

He told a press conference: “I’ve decided I’ve changed my mind. You are allowed to know. It’s not always a sign of weakness, it could be a sign of strength.”

The politician made the announcement minutes after he was named the new leader of the Reform party by the man who currently holds the position.

Richard Tice told a press conference in London: “We have tried to create some interest in this general election campaign. And here we are. Everyone believed that reform in Britain was going to be ripped out, that was the strategy of the Prime Minister and the Tories.”

He added: “What happens to the ballot boxes? Are we going down? do we keep Not. We’re going up. Yes, totally contrary to these plans, we will actually grow.”

“How do we start the rocket boosters, the turbo chargers, in this campaign?” He continued: “As people know, I wanted Nigel to be able to give as much energy and effort, commitment to this campaign as he felt able to do.”

He then said: “I’ve thought it through actually, what I really want to do is invite Nigel Farage to become leader of Reform UK.”
