Fire crews rush to the crash on busy Tameside Road

Fire crews rushed to the scene after two cars collided in Tameside on Monday afternoon.

Two fire engines were called to the crash at the junction of Manchester Road and Lord Sheldon Way in Tameside at around 2pm, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said.




Crews evaluated one victim at the scene, the service added. It is unclear if anyone was seriously injured.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Shortly after 2pm this afternoon (Monday 3 June), two fire engines from Ashton Fire Stations -under-Lyne and Stalybridge and the Technical Response Unit from Ashton-under -Lyne, were called to a road traffic collision involving two cars at the junction of Manchester Road and Lord Sheldon Way, Tameside.

“Crews arrived quickly, assessed one victim at the scene and made the area safe before leaving after approximately 35 minutes on the ground.”

Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for further information.
