The flowers will be displayed outside the windows in Trowbridge

The High Sheriff of Wiltshire, Dr Olivia Chapple, will launch this year’s Trowbridge Chamber of Commerce Flower Festival.

She will kick off the festival at an event outside the historic town house at 4pm on Friday 7 June.

Over 50 Trowbridge businesses, organizations and charities will be taking part in the Festival of Flowers displaying flowers and plants in their shop windows from Saturday 8th June.

The festival was organized to coincide with the national Big Green Week from June 8 to Sunday, June 16.

The displays will continue throughout the summer months, with the aim of bringing colour, nature and an enhanced promenade to the Wiltshire town.

A spokesman for the Chamber said: “We would love to see colorful and vibrant green window displays in shop and office windows.”

There will be floral themed window paintings, colorful hanging baskets and planters, flower displays, flower related activities and even circus and tea themed floral displays.

Flower Festival route maps will be available for residents and visitors to discover the displays on a fun floral safari around Trowbridge town centre. Maps will be available for download at trowbridgechamber.com/events/.

Each of the Flower Festival windows on the route map will display a unique number and the challenge is to add up all the numbers and email the total to [email protected]. Correct entries will go into a draw to win prizes including a £100 voucher from Trowbridge Garden Centre.
