The Liverpool star pulled out of the squad out of ‘precaution’ as Aaron Ramsdale could affect the transfer

Liverpool have yet to hear from Arne Slot following his official start date at the start of the month. Meanwhile, there’s a seemingly never-ending pile of transfer gossip to keep the entertainment going, as well as some international fixtures, as teams prepare for the summer’s major tournaments.

The Euros are now less than two weeks away, but one Liverpool player may fear for his chances after missing out on the final matchday squad, not training this week. Meanwhile, although Aaron Ramsdale is currently busy with England duty, his club future could end up having ramifications at Anfield. Here’s a rundown of the latest Liverpool news.

Ben Doak is not in the Scotland squad

Liverpool youngster Ben Doak was a surprise inclusion in Scotland’s provisional squad for Euro 2024. He has not played for the Reds at any level for months, MCL surgery in December ending his campaign with the club very prematurely.

But with Steve Clarke naming just 28 players initially and Lyndon Dykes later withdrawing through injury, Doak looked a good bet to make the final 26. However, further injury questions were raised on Monday night .

Clarke had said Doak should be available to play from the bench against Gibraltar. But coming from the start, he was not even named among the substitutes.

Conformable Jack Lusby, Doak missed training in Scotland this week as a “precaution” ahead of his exclusion from the squad. He remains “in contention” for the Euros. And coach Clarke has since confirmed that the winger “had a bit of a reaction” two days into training and was ruled out as a result.
