Police cordon in place after concern over welfare incident in Bristol

Emergency services were called to an incident of concern for welfare involving a man in Bristol this evening (Monday 3 June). Police, fire crews and paramedics rushed to the scene in Kingsdown at around 6.30pm.

At the time of writing (8.15pm), Dove Street remains closed and access to Kings Square Park is restricted. Avon and Somerset Police have urged people to avoid the area.

Images from the scene show emergency services in attendance. A cordon is in place in Kings Square Park as the incident is dealt with.

Avon and Somerset Police said: “Officers are in attendance at Kings Square Park off Dove Street in Bristol this evening (Monday June 3) to deal with a welfare incident involving a man.

“We are asking people to avoid the area for the time being. Dove Street is closed and access to Kings Square Park is also restricted.”

Avon Fire and Rescue Service added: “We are currently attending an incident in Kingsdown.

“Dove Street is currently closed and access to Kings Square is restricted. Please avoid the area, we will continue to update when we can.”
