The Godiva Festival is looking for volunteers as the event celebrates its 25th anniversary

Godiva Festival is looking for volunteers for this year’s festival to help them as they celebrate their 25th anniversary. Music lovers have been urged to support the crew at War Memorial Park between Friday 5th July and Sunday 7th July.

Roles include liaising with artists backstage, accompanying street performers, supporting craft activities and supporting outdoor street performances. Events firm EnV, which is working in partnership with the festival, said volunteers would be offered a range of incentives.

This includes free lunch vouchers, a free Godiva Festival volunteer t-shirt and a free festival ticket for a friend or family member. Headlining this year are Richard Ashcroft, Paloma Faith and Beverley Knight over the weekend.

Other musical acts include Lady Leshurr, Sam Ryder, The Primitives and Holy Goof. Abdul Salam Khan from Coventry City Council says there is “something for everyone” at this year’s festival.

“Our program perfectly reflects this year’s theme, Worldwide Welcome – we have something for everyone over the weekend. The diversity of the festival caters to all music lovers and is something we are extremely proud to deliver year after year.

“Whether it’s our drum and bass artists on Friday night or family activities on Sunday afternoon, the diversity of our festival speaks to our city,” he added.
