According to maps from Netweather TV and WX Charts, the heatwave will start from 3pm on June 13 and temperatures will continue to rise over the next week. WX Charts, which uses Met Desk data, updates its forecasts daily on its website.

The BBC suggested a “warmer trend” between June 1 and June 16, saying: “In the third week of June, conditions could again be quite changeable as low pressure areas could approach or surround at times UK.

“There is also the possibility of low pressure moving generally to the north or north-west of the UK later this week, allowing High Azores high pressure to spread to the southern part of the UK, the a bit temporary.

“This would lead to warmer, calmer and slightly drier conditions, particularly in southern areas. However, a renewal of a stronger block of high pressure over Scandinavia could lead to drier and warmer east or south-easterly flow, particularly in northern and eastern parts of the UK, and wetter conditions further west and south”.
