Live Leicester traffic updates as crash causes disruption

A crash in Leicester is causing disruption on the roads this morning (Tuesday, June 4). The incident has “partially” blocked Knighton Lane East in Knighton, Leicester Area Traffic Control (ATC) said.

The road is blocked at the railway bridge between Welford Road and Saffron Lane. ATC said it “expects delays” while Network Rail carries out a safety inspection on the bridge.

As a result of the incident, congestion built up in nearby Saffron Lane and Welford Road.

The decision was made on the basis of the plan to turn offices in Leicester into flats
