Six modest silver coins worth a fortune – one could make you a ‘millionaire’

When it comes to rare coins, there is definitely money to be made.

And according to TikTok user @CoinCollectingWizard, there are plenty of pieces to look out for. The money guru has listed the six silver coins that are worth more than you might think.

So much so that modest coins could “make you a millionaire”. He explained: “1851 Florin or Two Pence Shilling piece with a very low mintage of only 1,500. This coin is worth an amazing £7,000 in fine condition.

“As for the 1828 Sixpence, just over 15,000 coins were ever made of this coin and in good condition it is worth £500. Meanwhile, the 1851 shilling has around 470,000 coins made with a value of around £700”.

Continuing his informative video, the TikToker added: “The 1841 Half Crown has a mintage of 42,000 with a top condition (value) of £5,000. Also, the 1905 UK Half Crown has only 166,008 ever produced. £450 and £10,000 depending on condition.”

The last piece mentioned by the coin expert was the 1854 Four Pence, with a “very low” mintage. Around 11,080 were produced, which is why the item is so valuable.

Apparently even the worst condition 4p could fetch £230. And provided it’s in good nick, the value could rise to £2,000.

After the clip was posted on TikTok, people flooded the comment section with positive comments. One responder said: “I’d love to have some.”

Another wrote: “Great video.” Meanwhile, a third pointed out: “And there are probably fewer now, with wear and tear and melting down for decimalization.”
