Cristiano Ronaldo has demanded a transfer to Manchester United after breaking down in tears

Cristiano Ronaldo was left in tears after Al-Nassr’s defeat to Al-Hilal on penalties in the Copa del Rey final on Friday night. The defeat confirmed that his second season in Saudi Arabia will end without any silverware.

Ronaldo’s second stint in Saudi Arabia has been marred by disappointment, with the chaotic Saudi Cup final – featuring three red cards and a penalty shoot-out – encapsulating the emotional turmoil that has characterized the team this year.

Despite scoring his side’s second penalty with typical confidence – after ex-Manchester United star Alex Telles missed – Ronaldo could not prevent Nassr’s defeat. All two players except Hilal converted their penalties, with Telles’ miss ensuring Nassr’s loss.

The defeat means that Al-Nassr not only lost the Saudi Pro League title by a significant margin to Al-Hilal, but also suffered the humiliation of losing the domestic double to their rivals in the King Cup of Champions final.

In a bid to overcome this latest setback and make up for a trophyless season in the Middle East, Ronaldo plans to turn to his former clubs Manchester United and Real Madrid for reinforcements, according to the Mirror.

Cristiano Ronaldo would have contacted Casemiro from Manchester United for a possible transfer, according to Marca. The Spanish outlet also claims that Real Madrid’s Nacho Fernandez has been contacted by Ronaldo.
