In a bid to overcome this latest setback and make up for a trophyless season in the Middle East, Ronaldo plans to turn to his former clubs Manchester United and Real Madrid for reinforcements, according to the Mirror.

Cristiano Ronaldo would have contacted Casemiro from Manchester United for a possible transfer, according to Marca. The Spanish outlet also claims that Real Madrid’s Nacho Fernandez has been contacted by Ronaldo.

Casemiro, whose current contract at Old Trafford runs until June 2026, has had a challenging season despite making 32 appearances for United in all competitions. His performances have looked poor at times, particularly in the fast-paced Premier League, and he was notably absent from United’s thrilling 2-1 FA Cup final win over Manchester City.

In May, after a string of poor results, including a 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace, Casemiro’s place at United was questioned by supporters. Jamie Carragher, speaking on Sky Sports, has advised Casemiro to consider his future, suggesting a move to MLS or the Saudi Pro League could be in order.

Carragher said: “I said at half-time that they have to take Casemiro off.
