Lambeth is increasing investment in supporting the voluntary and community sector as it searches for a new provider

Lambeth Council is re-tendering its contract to support the voluntary and community sector across the borough for two years as part of a plan to increase investment in support of the sector.

In a statement they said:

Working with our VCS is vital to supporting our communities. We are delighted to already be working with so many dedicated local people and organizations who provide excellent support and advice services to our residents.

We consulted widely with the sector and heard that the current support levels should be higher, so we significantly increased the potential contract size.

We received more specific feedback that the sector wants us to ensure that the service provider can provide high quality support, particularly in these areas:

  • Organizational development
  • Collaborative Networks and VCS
  • Support for accessing VCS funding

Lambeth’s director of strategy and communications, Ryan Devlin, said:

“I am very excited to share another great opportunity for local providers to make a huge difference to the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) in Lambeth.

“Lambeth’s voluntary and community sector does vital work in our borough, from helping families affected by the cost of living crisis to providing opportunities in sport, arts and culture for children and young people.

“We know how important the sector is, so we have doubled the size of the support contract, despite the financial challenges facing local government, to ensure our VCS organizations get the support, opportunities and information they need to thrive.

“Please come and talk to us if you’re interested in bidding – there will be a couple of supplier sessions in early June where we’d love to hear your views.”

Lambeth says it would welcome discussions with any potential suppliers who would like to review the documents with them. They will also host two online vendor events for questions and information
