Krispy Kreme is denying the closure of its Bristol store, but says big changes are coming

A well-known food brand has denied speculation that one of its stores in Bristol is closing. US chain Krispy Kreme said its store at Avonmeads Retail Park, in St Philips, would remain open but there would be a major store makeover.

The donut specialist has three stores in the Bristol area, the others at The Mall, Cribbs Causeway and Cabot Circus.

The Avonmeads shop was famous for having production visible to customers and at certain times of the day people could watch their donuts being made. But the domestic production facility will close.

Krispy Kreme said it wants to become more efficient, which is why production at the Avonmeads site will stop. Fresh donuts will be delivered to the store daily.

A Krispy Kreme spokesperson said: “We are delighted to inform our valued local customers that our store in Bristol Avonmeads Retail Park will remain open.
