Wembley’s new explorers program offers exciting opportunities for young people

Brent Scouts have announced an exciting opportunity for 14-18 year olds to join the new 7th Wembley Explorer Unit.

Every Monday from 7.30pm to 9pm, Scouts gather in Wembley, giving local teenagers a chance to develop life skills and be part of something special.

Together with new friends, explorers will develop life skills that contribute to a stronger and happier future. According to a study from the University of Edinburgh, young people who participated in similar organizations were about 35% more likely to report excellent health at age 50 compared to their peers.

The program is open to all genders, races and backgrounds. Regardless of your physical ability, there is a Scout adventure out there waiting for you.

Chief Scout Bear Grylls believes that “young people need a friendly, safe and supportive place to discover their talents”, stating: “Now more than ever, our young people need the confidence and encouragement that Scouting provides” .

Scouts encourage young people to “try harder, see more, do more” in the Explorer unit. The group gives young people a platform to dream big, find their place in the world and create memories that will be cherished for a lifetime. Whether rafting or participating in community projects, explorers have the freedom to choose their adventures.

Finn, a member of the 7th Wembley Explorers Unit, says: “I really enjoy survival skills, camping and fire lighting. Joining the Boy Scouts is the best thing I’ve ever done. I could never do this stuff at school.
