“It’s not disrespectful” – Jose Mourinho makes a transfer request for Son Heung-Min Liverpool

Jose Mourinho has explained why Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-Min has the ability to play for Liverpool.

Mourinho managed Son during his time as Spurs manager from 2019-21. The striker was named Tottenham captain last summer following the departure of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich.

Before Kane’s exit to Germany, he and Son formed a formidable Premier League partnership that often saw Liverpool on the receiving end. South Korea scored at Anfield last Sunday as the Reds won 4-2 in Jurgen Klopp’s penultimate home game as manager.

The strike was Son’s seventh goal against Liverpool in his Spurs career. And now Mourinho has explained why he has more than enough ability to play for the Reds.

“I don’t see Son as a Korean player,” Mourinho told EA Sports FC. “I see Son as one of the best players in the world. Maybe Tottenham fans won’t be happy with what I’m going to say, it’s not disrespectful.

“He could win titles, he could play for the best teams. He could play in England for Man City, for Liverpool, for Chelsea. He could be overseas playing for one of the top teams.
