Sheffield triumphs in the Whatuni Awards and the Complete University Guide 2025 | Graduates

The University of Sheffield was named University of the Year, Best Students’ Union and Best Student Life in the Whatuni Student Choice Awards (WUSCA) 2024 and was ranked 18th in the UK in the Complete University Guide 2025.

The Whatuni Student Choice Awards are the UK’s largest annual university awards voted exclusively by students. They aim to celebrate the dedication and hard work of higher education providers in creating an exceptional environment for their students.

With over 39,000 reviews from students across the country, Sheffield took top honors and took home major accolades:

Sheffield in the top 20!

The Complete University Guide 2025 helps prospective students make informed decisions about their future by ranking the top 130 UK institutions. This year’s results placed the University of Sheffield 18th in the UK and second in Yorkshire and the Humber.

The ranking assesses ten key measures: entry standards, student satisfaction, research quality, research intensity, expenditure on academic services, expenditure on student facilities, continuity, student-to-staff ratio, graduate outlook and outcomes.

Sheffield continues its journey to the top, climbing two places from last year’s ranking.
