James Long Obituary – Sheffield Lake, OH (1939-2011)

SHEFFIELD LAKE – James W. Long Sr., 71, of Sheffield Lake, died Saturday, July 16, 2011, at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born August 11, 1939 in Johnstown, PA, he had lived in Sheffield Lake for the past 47 years, moving from Johnstown.

James retired from BF Goodrich, Avon Lake after 30 years.

He was a member of the Episcopal Church of St. Mark’s, Johnston, Pa. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed coaching and managing his children’s little league teams. He also enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

He is survived by his; daughter, Beth (Curt, DDS) Russell of Vermilion; sons, Gary (Gina) Long of Pittsburg, Pa.; and James Long III of Avon; grandchildren: Leah, Bryan, Shaine, Stephanie, Jessica and Taylor; great-grandson, Bentley; and brother, Gary E. (Beverly) Long of Johnstown, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Sr. and Mae (nee Clark) Long, and a sister, Karen Jolene Long.

Private services will be held in Johnstown, Pa.
