– You know where I am!

Steve Bruce has told talkSPORT he is open to accepting the vacant Leicester job.

Leicester won the Championship this season under the former Manchester City assistant, but are now looking for a new boss to keep them in the top flight next term.

Former Manchester United defender Bruce joined talkSPORT’s breakfast show on Tuesday and it didn’t take long for him to be asked if he would be interested in the job.

When asked by Leicester fan Nigel if he would be keen or if a potential points deduction would stop him taking it, Bruce threw his hat in the ring.

“A points deduction wouldn’t put me off,” he smiled. “Leicester, you know where I am! I mean, what a wonderful opportunity it is all of a sudden.

“You know, they might have a few problems but Leicester have been a great club for the last few years, of course the fairy tale of winning the Premier League a few years ago.”

Bruce left his most recent job in 2022, leaving West Brom after eight months in charge and leaving the Baggies 22nd in the table – their lowest position in the league for more than two decades.

Prior to his role at the Hawthorns, Bruce managed Newcastle, Sheffield Wednesday, Aston Villa, Hull, Sunderland, Wigan and Birmingham.

But now, Bruce says that he is now open to other roles, far from being a no. 1 to another club.

“I’m looking to do something,” he said. “I mean I’ve had a year off now.”

He continued: “Either leading or working alongside someone. Or I’d like to think that if a president asked me a question about football, I’d like to give him an answer.

Darren Ambrose finds Enzo Maresca’s style of football at Leicester City boring and warns Chelsea fans that he will become their manager.

“I’ve been in (football) for a long time. But I’ve had a long winter in this country without work, so doing something is the next step.”
