Man found dead in luxury Tamworth housing estate as police launch investigation

Police are investigating after a man’s body was found in a luxury housing estate. Emergency services crews were called at around 5am today, Tuesday, June 4, to Clifton Park, a gated estate of “exclusive houses” off Netherseal Road in Clifton Campville, near Tamworth.

There they discovered the body of a man. West Midlands Ambulance Service was also called to the scene but nothing could be done to save the man.




An ambulance service spokeswoman said: “We were called at 4.56am to an incident on Netherseal Road, Clifton Campville. An ambulance and a crew from East Midlands Ambulance Service attended the scene.

“On arrival I found a man. Unfortunately, nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”

Staffordshire Police said they are investigating the cause of the man’s death and are interviewing people in the area. It said there would be an increased presence in the area, which is north of the village, in the coming days.

In a statement, a spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: “We have launched an investigation following the death of a man near Tamworth. We were called just after 5am on Tuesday (June 4) to a report of a body found in Clifton Park, Clifton Campville.

“West Midlands Ambulance Service also attended the scene. Unfortunately, the man was pronounced dead just before 5:30. An investigation to determine the cause of death is ongoing.
