Police want to speak to this man after a young woman was sexually assaulted in Batley

Police in Batley have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to after a young woman was sexually assaulted.

The attack took place in June last year when a young girl was approached by an unknown man in a grassy area off Conway Crescent in Batley.

West Yorkshire Police carried out a “significant” number of inquiries to establish the circumstances of what happened and believe the man pictured may be able to help, a spokesman said.

Anyone who recognizes the man is urged to contact police. A spokesman for the force said: “If you recognize the man pictured below or have any information about the incident, please contact Kirklees CID.

“Information can be provided by calling 101, quoting crime reference 13230370914 or using the LiveChat facility on the West Yorkshire Police website. Information can also be reported anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online.”
