Police pull the driver over on the M6 and he is stunned when he shows his licence

Cops couldn’t believe their eyes when a driver they stopped on the M6 showed them his driving licence. The car was stopped on the motorway in Staffordshire with officers keen to speak to the driver.

As is standard practice, officers asked to see the man’s license so they could confirm who he was and all his necessary details were in order. But they had to do a double take when he produced “his” license.

That’s because the person in the photo looked nothing like him. The driver had madly surrendered his license, apparently thinking he would be able to fool the officers.

Traffic cops said the person on the photo card was a different person and was “around 20 stone heavier”. When the driver was informed that he was to be arrested, he “remembered” his real name.

The police then discovered that the man had no insurance and will now be prosecuted. The Central Motorway Policing Group (CMPG) has shared details of the incident which took place on the M6 this week.

They posted on X: “This vehicle was stopped on the M6 in Staffs. The driver produced a picture on a foreign license book with a photo of someone with a different skin color and about 20 stone heavier than him.

“When he was threatened with arrest, he remembered his other (real) name. He had no insurance.”
