Daily Horse Racing Tips

  • SOUTHWELL
    2.45: wolf 7/1 Return (1pt)
  • LEICESTER
    4.03: Educate 6/1 each way (1.5 points)
  • course
    7.45: Queen’s Guard 3/1 (1 point)

wolf

He’s very much worth siding with the Wolf here, despite the lack of wins to his name and some worrying numbers on his form that read 553P5-.

He is an Olly Murphy-trained ten-year-old who has shown so often that he is capable of running well.

Despite only winning twice over fences, he has long maintained a decent overall rating, which shows how unlucky he can be.

He has good experience over this kind of distance and that run behind Arizona Cardinal at Leicester in January has worked well since.

Since then he has been in just two hunter chases and, due to stopping and finishing last on his last outing, he has dropped 10lb.

That opens things up for him to improve a lot if only for a final spot.

He had a wind operation in November and clearly needed a run to come into force, while hunter chases are a completely different request to handicap chases, so he should be fine here and he’s too likable not to be on his side.

Educate

Educate carried 7lb more than Palace Green at Kempton in April and still managed to finish second to Musical Dancer and Ghostlore.

He then reappeared later that month to go 1m4f for the first time in his third career start, also carrying top weight, and managed to go almost a third of a mile ahead of the other two on the back.

It carried between 6 and 12 lb more than its rivals, but was still only a distance away.

That form has been more than boosted as Fouroneohfever has won twice since, beating The Hun and Contacto at Chester.

the John & Thady Gosden trained colt has the form on paper and that should translate into a nice 3/1 winner on the day.

Queen’s Guard

Two close calls all time so far this season over 5f but she is back over 6f here where she has already gone over and should go well from a decent mark.

She placed just a neck behind Dyrholaey in a novice event in Newcastle in April and the pair finished well ahead of the others and separated by just a neck.

She then hit a progressive type next time and there are clear signs of improvement to return to 6f on her third all-weather round.
