Arne Slot must not allow Liverpool transfer after ‘monster contract’ offer emerges.

It wouldn’t be a summer transfer window at Liverpool if at least one of their star players wasn’t linked with a summer exit.

Mohamed Salah has often been the player whose future has been the subject of speculation in recent years. That remains the case this year, but it looks like another member of the Reds’ squad is being tipped to leave Anfield this summer.

Reports in recent weeks have claimed that clubs in the Saudi Pro League are interested in signing Alisson Becker. The Brazilian signed for Roma in 2018 and has just completed his sixth season on Merseyside.

Alisson has been Liverpool’s established number one and has been since he first arrived at Melwood six years ago. Now there are reports that his time with the Reds could be coming to an end.

A new report from TEAMtalk has claimed that Alisson has been identified as a priority target for Saudi Pro League bosses this summer. As a result, it has been claimed that a ‘monster contract’ offer is being prepared for the Liverpool goalkeeper in a bid to convince the stopper to leave Anfield and move to Saudi Arabia.

It is not the first time Liverpool have been forced to deal with Saudi Arabia’s interest in their players. Just 12 months ago, Jordan Henderson and Fabinho left the Reds to move to the Saudi Pro League, forcing the Reds to change their plans for the season and add new additions to the squad with Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch.

Arne Slot has just started his role as Liverpool’s new head coach. Part of that responsibility will be to assess the squad and see where they might need further reinforcements through the transfer market, as well as making decisions about the future of existing squad members.

Liverpool will not want to let Alisson leave the club this summer, even if a substantial offer is made by a Saudi Pro League side. The situation may also be complicated by the fact that Caoimhin Kelleher could be looking to move away from Anfield in an effort to become a regular starter elsewhere.

If Liverpool were to let Kelleher go, then the chances of Alisson being allowed to leave would decrease even further. The Reds know they have one of the best goalkeepers in the world in their ranks and Slot will be fully aware that for him to have the best chance of succeeding in his first season at Anfield he should have available on Alisson.

The transfer window hasn’t even opened and yet there has already been plenty of speculation about what may or may not happen at Liverpool this summer. Slot will already struggle to follow in Jurgen Klopp’s footsteps, but seeing one of the world’s best goalkeepers leave before his first season would make his job even more difficult.
