Live updates as road closed following police incident near primary school

A main road has been closed following a police incident near a primary school.

A large number of emergency service vehicles are currently on Rupert Road in Huyton, near Huyton, with Roby C from E Primary School. The ECHO understands the incident involves a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle.




Arriva has confirmed that a number of bus services have been diverted due to the incident.

Road cleared

Rupert Road is now clear and has reopened

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said:

“At around 3.20pm, we were called to Rupert Road to reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.”

Police on scene

Police confirmed emergency services were in Huyton following an RTC this afternoon, Thursday 9 May.

Bus diversions in place

Arriva Western Avenue services 8, 9 and 15 have been diverted.
