Leeds United and Everton ‘consider’ Premier League as contract talks ‘collapse’

The transfer window opens next week and Leeds United are preparing for another year in the Championship. Ins and outs are expected at Elland Road this summer as boss Daniel Farke looks to assemble a squad capable of challenging for automatic promotion.

There will be funds available for Farke to reshape the first team squad and the club’s lucrative sponsorship deal with Red Bull should give them more room to maneuver in the market. However, Farke may be forced to bring in attacking reinforcements if Wilfried Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville are sold following the club’s failure to win promotion back to the Premier League. Both Gnonto and Summerville have many admirers in this country and overseas. Farke is a man down wide, with Jaidon Anthony returning to Bournemouth after his loan spell.

A TEAMtalk report claims United and Everton are keeping tabs on versatile Fulham striker Bobby Decordova-Reid ahead of the transfer window opening on June 14. The publication claim that Decordova-Reid will leave the club on a free transfer at the end of June after contract talks collapsed. Despite being offered a two-year contract by Fulham, it appears that Decordova-Reid is ready to leave Craven Cottage and explore his options as a free agent.

Decordova-Reid, who is capable of playing anywhere in the forward positions, featured 41 times for the Cottagers in all competitions last season. The former Bristol City player contributed seven goals and four assists to the mid-table side.

The 31-year-old, who joined Fulham in August 2019 on loan from Cardiff City before the move became permanent in January 2020, has amassed over 200 appearances for the West London outfit.
