Police issue update after man seriously injured following armed brawl

Police have issued an update after a man was seriously injured in an altercation.

Emergency services were called to Kilburn Street in Litherland at around 5.30pm on Tuesday June 4 after reports of four men armed with guns fighting in the street. Two of the men fled the scene in a black car and a third man fled the scene in a blue car.




A 40-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious head and leg injuries. When the ECHO arrived in Litherland at around 6.30pm, a partial cordon was in place on Kilburn Street.

Several police vehicles were in attendance, including a Matrix van, as well as two ambulances. The injured man was transported by ambulance at around 18.45.

In an update today, a spokesman for Merseyside Police said the man remains in hospital with a serious leg injury. No arrests have been made, but investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Chief Inspector Chris Bland, of Merseyside Police, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone in the locality who saw this incident or who may have captured anything on CCTV, dashcam or doorbell. This was a nasty incident which left a man in hospital and we are determined to find the people responsible, so come and we will take action.”
