Manchester United youngster Dan Gore has dislocated his shoulder

Manchester United youngster Dan Gore has revealed he has undergone surgery on a dislocated shoulder.

The highly-rated youngster, who made his first-team debut last September, was sent out on loan in January to gain experience in League One.

Gore, 19, joined Port Vale for the rest of the season but only played once through injury. He returned to United last month and trained with the first team leading up to their FA Cup final victory over rivals Man City.

Since then, the young man has suffered another injury.

On Wednesday, Gore shared a message with his followers on Instagram, revealing that he had dislocated his shoulder.

Gore wrote: “Gutted I dislocated my shoulder and had to have surgery. However, the surgery went well, now it’s time to rest and recover and prepare for the new season.”

The midfielder shared a photo with his message, which showed him in hospital giving the thumbs up.

All Gore can do now is rest and try to recover as best he can. It may hurt his chances of going to the US tour this summer, which is a blow because it reduces his chances of impressing the manager ahead of the new season.

That said, no return date has been given and we won’t know until the players return for the preseason if Gore will make the team.

A dislocated injury is not an injury worth rushing back from.
