Liverpool are preparing for the first transfer window of Arne Slot’s reign as Red boss and could see activity in and out of the club as Anfield look to progress despite Jurgen Klopp’s departure

It’s a big summer for Liverpool and with Arne Slot on the job, preparations for next season are well underway.

The Reds will hope to build on 2023/24, where they won a Carabao Cup trophy and finished third in the Premier League, as they look to move on from Jurgen Klopp. It will be no easy feat with an overhaul of the backroom staff, ensuring the team will have a new identity going forward.

That could also happen on the field. With the transfer window opening in just over a week, there is likely to be movement in and out of the club.

Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold each have a year left on their contracts as Liverpool look to build towards a strong future. Mirror Football takes a look at some of the biggest transfer stories around the club.

Caoimhin Kelleher price tag

It will take a fee in excess of £20m for Kelleher to leave Anfield, despite the goalkeeper’s ambition to leave the club. The Republic of Ireland ace played 26 times for the Reds last term as Alisson Becker’s understudy, but is now looking to secure a place as first-choice stopper.

“It would be great if it happened at Liverpool, but I’m not stupid,” he told Athletic. “I know Ali has been the best goalkeeper in the world for years.

“I had a wonderful time in Liverpool. It’s been a crazy ride for me and one that I’ve absolutely loved. I love the club, I love the fans and I have a great relationship with the players and the staff. Whether it’s here at Liverpool or elsewhere, I feel the next step for me is to be No.1.”

The Reds are hoping to launch a bid that reflects his experience and could look to draw comparisons with James Trafford who is moving from Man City to Burnley for £19million.
