Struggling to start your career? Sheffield volunteers to the rescue! | Graduates

London City Connections (LCC) is an event that connects students with successful graduates, giving them a foot in the door. For nearly a decade, LCC has improved the career prospects of Sheffield graduates.

Helping create a path to career success

In March Sheffield Alumni Volunteers took part in another fantastic London City Connections event. This edition brought together students from the faculties of Arts and Humanities and Social Sciences with successful graduates to share their career journeys in the capital.

For nearly a decade, Sheffield alumni have opened the doors of their organizations to students through this program, offering a real, honest and encouraging look at their potential futures. LCC focuses on creating relationships, building confidence, acquiring skills and realizing potential, particularly for students who may not have access to professional networks.

The biggest impact London City Connections has had on me is 100% personal development, I’ve really gained a lot more confidence in myself and how I will approach post-graduation. I was stressed about going into the financial sector, but after talking to the graduates, they have definitely boosted my confidence in my career progression.”
