Another player who has discussed their future is Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.

The Swede has been linked with Arsenal and other Premier League clubs after two hugely impressive years in the Premier League.

Asked to comment on such links, Isak said Fotbollskanlen: “I’m having a really, really good time at Newcastle.

“I’ve just had the best season of my career. That shouldn’t be underestimated. I really like everything about the club, the fans, the city.

“I’m not actually thinking about a move or anything like that. I’m having a fantastic time and I’m very happy with my life.”

Florian Wirtz has spoken about his future with Bayer Leverkusen, having been linked with Liverpool and a host of other teams.

The German midfielder, who is under contract until 2027, played a key role in Xabi Alonso’s side that won the Bundesliga and DFB Pokal for Leverkusen last season, also reaching the Europa League final.

Such performances naturally led to talk of a potential big-money move. Commenting on the speculation, Wirtz told Sky Germany: “Everyone knows my contract. Now is not the time to talk about it. I’m definitely having a great time at Leverkusen and I feel good.

“The European Championship is 100% on my mind now. I don’t care about anything else at the moment.”
