The gym closes “immediately” after a medical emergency when the air ambulance lands

A gym in Southport has closed its doors today following a “medical emergency” inside.

Marshside Health Club, on Slaidburn Crescent, announced on Facebook that the gym would be closing immediately due to a medical emergency shortly before 5pm yesterday, June 5. An air ambulance was seen hovering over nearby Marshside Primary School before landing in a yard close to the hall.

Another Facebook post, made by the health club at 10pm yesterday, said: “As mentioned earlier there was a medical emergency in the gym this evening. Out of respect for those involved, we have made the decision to remain closed tomorrow.
