Liverpool have confirmed their released list of 10 players out, including a popular pair

Liverpool will be under the control of Dutchman Arne Slot next season and the Reds have confirmed that the club’s playing squad has already undergone major changes ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Liverpool have announced that 10 players have left the club, including cult heroes Joel Matip and Thiago Alcantara.

The pair’s exits were confirmed last month, with their contracts due to expire. Both Matip and Thiago were given the opportunity to bid emotional farewells to the club after last day’s win over Wolves – which was also Jurgen Klopp’s last game in charge.

The departures don’t end here. The Reds have confirmed that a host of academy stars will be leaving. Adam Lewis and Melkamu Frauendorf both depart after being allowed first-team debuts under Klopp.

Mateusz Musialowski, who featured against Sparta Prague earlier this season, will also bid farewell. Nathan Giblin, Francis Gyimah, Luke Hewitson, Niall Osborne and Cody Pennington also leave Anfield.

A club statement said: “Everyone at Liverpool FC would like to thank Joel, Thiago, Adam, Melkamu, Mateusz, Nathan, Francis, Luke, Niall and Cody for all their contributions and wish them all the best for future”.

While there are plenty of departures, the Reds are also in the process of tying stars to new offers. Spanish winger Adrian has been offered new terms to stay at the club.

Academy goalkeepers Jacob Poytress and Reece Trueman are also in talks over extended stays at Anfield. Work will now begin on Liverpool’s summer transfer window.
