Coventry City add another high-profile pre-season fixture as the Premier League side prepare to visit the CBS Arena

Coventry City have added another big name to their pre-season schedule, announcing that Premier League side Everton will travel to the CBS Arena next month.

The Sky Blues take on the Toffees at home on Tuesday July 30 with kick-off scheduled for 7.45pm in a pre-season match between the two sides for the first time since 2009 when they drew 2-2.

The club say the match will “form a key part of City’s preparations for the new season” as they prepare for the start of the 2024/25 Championship campaign.

The clash with Sean Dyche’s men is City’s third confirmed pre-season fixture after announcing fixtures against SV Darmstadt 98 and Werder Bremen last week.

City face a trip to Germany to play SV Darmstadt 98 on Saturday 27 July at the Merck-Stadion am Böllenfalltor, Darmstadt. Darmstadt 98 played in the German Bundesliga last campaign, finishing 18th, having been promoted to the German first division the year before. Darmstadt is a city in the German state of Hesse, located in the southern part of the Rhine-Main-Zone.

City will also host SV Werder Bremen in another high-profile friendly against Germany’s four Bundesliga champions on Saturday 3 August.

It will be a 3pm kick-off at the Coventry Building Society Arena, with the match coming a week before the eagerly awaited start of the 2024/25 Sky Bet Championship campaign.
