Boy charged after Alum Rock stabbing leaves teenager needing hospital treatment

A boy has been charged over a stabbing on a Birmingham street which left a teenager needing hospital treatment. It happened on Foxton Road in Alum Rock at around 10pm on Tuesday, June 4.

The 16-year-old victim was rushed to hospital after the stabbing, but his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening. Now a 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged in connection with the incident.



He is charged with wounding and possession of a bladed article. He was remanded in custody by police and was due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday 6 June.

The suspect was apprehended after a “quick search” by officers from the Washwood Heath neighborhood team on Tuesday night. West Midlands Police said: “A teenager has been charged following a stabbing in Birmingham.

“A 15-year-old boy was arrested on Tuesday night following an incident earlier in the day in which a 16-year-old boy was stabbed in Foxton Road. The 15-year-old boy – who cannot be named for legal reasons – has been charged with wounding and possessing a bladed article.

“He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court today. The 16-year-old was taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.”
