The BBC Radio Merseyside breakfast presenter says ‘I’ve loved every minute’ as she hosts the final show

The BBC Radio Merseyside breakfast show host said he was “loving every minute” after hosting his latest edition.

Phil Munns replaced Paul Salt, who hosted the show for two years, as one of the show’s new presenters in September 2023. However, just nine months later, Phil had his last show on This Morning .




Phil has moved from the breakfast show to take over the weekend sports programme. During his final show this morning, he praised his replacement – Kevin Duala – along with the rest of the breakfast show team.

He said: “I really enjoyed it, I loved every minute of it, I’m going to miss it. But I love the sport and I’ll be really happy there, it’s going to be brilliant.”

When news of the shake-up was announced, Kevin, who is best known as a reporter on The One Show, said: ‘It’s official! Dreams come true.

“I am delighted to be presenting the breakfast show on BBC Radio Merseyside. What an honor to wake up the best city in the world. This is our show, not my show – and I want you to be a big part of it. . I’m really counting down the days… I can’t wait to get behind that microphone and say ‘good morning Merseyside’ for the first time!”
