The detailed house plan of 455 Spital Lane has been revealed by Persimmon Homes

Details for a new development of 455 homes on land in Bedworth have been revealed. Persimmon Homes is behind the new property on Hospital Lane.

The plan includes 455 homes, but there will also be a “district centre” for over-55s. However, it is set to be provided by another housing developer.

The huge plot of land, known as HSG5, was included in Nuneaton and Bedworth District Council’s first ‘District Plan’ as a designated area for homes. At the time, campaigners fought to keep it out of the plan – but their pleas fell on deaf ears.

Initial planning permission has been granted for the entire site. But Persimmon Homes has now submitted what is known as a reserved matters application detailing the layout, scale, layout and layout of the homes as well as public open space.

There are also outline proposals for infrastructure on the estate. The application explains that there would be play areas and allotments as well as sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) in the north-east and south-west corner of the large site.

Pedestrian paths would connect through the open space areas, forming part of a circular walk around the edge of the site. There is also land set aside for a wildlife area in the northern section of the site, close to Newdigate Primary School and Nursery.
