IN PHOTOS: Innisfil Farmers Market is back in bloom for 14th season

The summer camp opened in the car park outside the Stroud Innisfil Community Center on June 6

You could smell the cut flowers, baked goods and freshly made food from across the parking lot Thursday afternoon.

It was a sure sign that one of Innisfil’s favorite summer staples was back for its 14th year.

The Innisfil Farmers Market opened in the parking lot outside the Stroud Innisfil Community Center (7883 Yonge St.) on June 6.

“(We’re) putting in a lot of hours to get this going,” said market president Rob Radcliffe. “This market is not successful without our locals. They are the biggest part of why it succeeds.”

The market was founded as a city initiative in 2011.

“I can’t tell you the excitement of the residents of the city who are waiting for this to happen,” said Mayor Lynn Dollin. “We’re looking forward to being here, celebrating the community, celebrating the local.”

Vendors will offer a variety of goods, including fresh produce, meats, plants and honey, from 1pm to 6pm every Thursday until October 10.
