Murder suspects named after Lenny Scott shot outside gym

Two men have been charged with the murder of Lenny Scott.

The 33-year-old father was shot dead outside a gym on Peel Road in Skelmersdale on Thursday, February 8. Emergency services attended the scene and found Lenny, who was from Prescot, with serious gunshot wounds. He died later in hospital.

Detectives have now charged two men with his murder.

Elias Morgan, 34, of Highgate Street, Liverpool, and Anthony Cleary, 28, of Smithdown Lane, Liverpool, were both charged following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service.

They have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Preston Magistrates’ Court on Friday, June 7.

The news comes after police confirmed they had made three more arrests in connection with Mr Scott’s death.

A 29-year-old Liverpool woman who was arrested on Wednesday 5 June on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Five other people have been arrested as part of inquiries by Lancashire Police and are currently on bail.

Lenny’s family has been informed of the latest development.
